Tasks Architecture design, construction workshop facilitator on-site during the XX Biennial of Architecture in Chile. Development and implementation of "Social Matters" fieldwork methodology.
Project Description
By designing, researching and implementing a work methodology as the so-called “Social Matters”, I’ve understood how architecture can be a really powerful tool for social development. Community members are active agents of change in the empowerment of local communities. Participation and co-creation processes provide people with a sense of meaning and belonging, which address the needs and potentials of complex human settlements. This work methodology was replicated in construction workshops for universities, architecture biennials and humanitarian post-emergency interventions. Throughout the years, each project experimented with different materials, natural plasters and diverse morphologies.

Za'atari Classroom, winner of ArchDaily building of the year 2018 and  "Outstanding architecture award at XX Bienal de Arquitectura de Chile",  is a 25 sqm classroom built to host Syrian and Jordanian children. The village is located outside of  Za’atari refugee camp, 10 km from the Syrian border.
