What remains where people don't?
In this Urban Installation, the role of the architect was to be an interpreter of social demands
and a cultural mediator in the recomposition of the social fabric.

Project Description
In April 2009 an earthquake struck the city of L’Aquila. Since then, the city is under construction. However, the population relocated to satellite settlements far from the city, has not been reunited with its urban spaces.
This urban installation and workshop focused on the passage from post-emergency logic to the need for a return to normality, made up of the collective memory linked to the affective places that the city space is destined to host.

30 trees were installed in The Palace of the Hemicycle (seat of the Regional Council)  to refer to historical, cultural and landscape roots, as well as the generalized desire for social roots. This space, made available by the regional institution, symbolically calls for the strengthening of dialogue with the community about the need to regain a sense of belonging.
